Sports Supervisors
Description
Oversee games, practices, and clinics to maintain standards of play as well as sports policies and to ensure that the game rules are being followed. Works directly with the public and is responsible for contributing to a fun and safe environment for friendly competition.
Essential Duties
- Supervise scorekeepers, refs, officials, and umpires ensuring all staff are on the correct playing area at the correct time.
- Monitor games, ensuring they start/end on time.
- Ensure good sportsmanship from players, parents, and coaches. Intervene discreetly if necessary to ensure everyone has an enjoyable experience.
- Organize and inspect sporting equipment ensuring equipment is intact and safe for gameplay and/or practices.
- Assist with setups, takedowns, and changeovers throughout the day.
- Be able to answer any rules conflicts between coaches and officials should there be a dispute.
- Ability to fill in and officiate games and/or operate scorers tables when needed.
- Field Supervisor: Watch over sports fields, answer questions & trouble shoot problems on game and practice nights.
Requires
- 16 years of age
- Must be able to work nights and weekends.
- Must have a reliable way to get to and from work.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to work long hours in outdoor summer temperatures.
- Must be able to stand, sit, kneel, or squat for long periods of time.
- Must be able to run occasionally for necessary job related job duties.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively, including but not limited to speaking and listening.
Supplemental Information
- Must pass background check.
- Some work is accomplished in an outdoor environment, subject to weather fluctuations (wide range of temperatures and inclement conditions).
