What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Program Coordinator position at City of Ocala, FL?
This position is responsible for performing intermediate and administrative work handling a variety of tasks, including but not limited to the coordination of special projects related to operations in the Recreation and Parks Department.
Provides a high level of customer service to the general public, management, supervisory staff, subordinates and coworkers in person, by telephone, email, through assorted paperwork/forms and regular participation in meetings.
Develops and promotes recreation program, including music, dance, arts and crafts, cultural arts, nature study, swimming, social recreation, games, and/or athletics for all ages.
Assists the Special Services Manager with the event permitting process, updates the event calendar and other event record keeping.
Monitors compliance in areas such as internal projects, programs and policies including but not limited to grant programs, special contracts, donations programs, special services and event permitting.
Collects, compiles, evaluates and reports department specific program or administrative information including but not limited to department surveys, grant information, Let Them Play scholarship program, donation programs and partnerships.
Plans, organizes and coordinates assignments which involve program specific operations and administrative services.
Responsible for accounting for funds received through special services and programs including but not limited to donations, grants, partnerships and permits.
Provides support for department special events before, during and after the event in areas and for functions relative to essential job duties and/or as otherwise assigned.

Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate degree in business, public administration, or finance, plus two years related experience and/or training, preferably in a governmental setting; an equivalent combination of training, education or experience may be considered.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
