Asst Park Mgr-Menominee Park

This position will help with supervising and directing train station concession attendants, Reetz Ball Diamond concession attendants, amusement ride operators and Lakefly Cafe concession attendants. The major emphasis of the position will be ensuring smooth operations, staffing levels, inventory control and cash handling of revenues facilities within Menominee Park.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES

  • Supervise and direct train station concession attendants, Reetz ball diamond concession attendants, amusement ride operators and Lakefly Cafe concession attendants.
  • Ensure operations at Menominee Park run smooth & efficiently.
  • Monitor staffing levels.
  • Monitor inventory control and cash handling of revenues facilities within Menominee Park.
  • Proper use of safety equipment and personal protective equipment.
  • Unloading/loading of equipment and materials.
  • Keep all equipment clean and return to proper storage area. Report damaged or broken equipment to management immediately.
  • Responsible and accountable for providing general information to the public and assisting them with their concerns and complaints when possible.
  • Provide friendly, reliable, positive customer service.
  • Report to work at scheduled time with reliable and predictable attendance. Employees work schedule will be week days 10:30 am to 8:30 pm, weekends 9:30 am – 8:30 pm, up to 35 hours per week including holidays and every other weekend.
  • Report any concerns or violations of City of Oshkosh rules/regulations to supervisor.
  • Perform his/her duties in accordance with the City’s Safety Policy and Procedures as well as the Occupational Health and Safety Act, including all applicable regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Wisconsin driver’s license and good driving record.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to read and write, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to conduct work in a safe manner in accordance with established safety rules and procedures. Capacity to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to adapt to the daily challenges associated with a busy work environment.
  • Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Ability to capitalize on cost saving opportunities and efficiencies, problem solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to develop, foster and sustain effective working relationships.
  • Build, foster and sustain a positive public image.
  • Capacity to safely operate a variety of equipment, capable of properly and safely lifting equipment, and a variety of heavy objects.
  • Possess positive customer service skills.
  • Must have a valid Wisconsin Driver’s License for a minimum of (3) two years.
  • First Aid and CPR training is an asset.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and or humid conditions, wild animals, fumes or airborne particles and toxic chemicals. The employee occasionally works near moving objects and is occasionally exposed to risk of loud noises. Considerable periods of standing/sitting. Moderate to heavy lifting, pushing, pulling at times. Working conditions contain moderate risks which require planned safety precautions for limited periods of time. May be subject to inclement weather and/or weather extremes during the discharge of responsibilities. Physical work including a variety of large and small equipment including the use of small tools, lawn maintenance equipment and small tractors.
