WHAT YOU'LL DO:As a Accounting Technician you will perform medium to complex accounting and clerical duties relating to keeping and adjusting financial records and accounts following standard accounting practices. Responsibilities may include: verifying transactions; processing cash receipts, accounts payable, payroll, or accounts receivable transactions; monitoring expenses and payments; reconciling accounts; preparing, reviewing, and submitting routine statements and reports; maintaining department accounting records and database; and responding to a variety of inquiries about financial information.
Specifically as the Accounting Technician you will...- Prepare and process accounts payable, review for compliance with contracts, regulations, and internal policies.
- Compile and sort invoices and copies of checks to be filed.
- Prepare and enter data for receipt processing, and balance bank statement.
- Prepare and process payroll, review for compliance with contracts, regulations and internal policies.
- Coordinate payroll data, including income taxes, EFTs, child support, and quarterly 941s.
- Respond to inquiries of employees, citizens, and outside vendors/companies via telephone, e-mail, and counter transactions.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
ABOUT YOU:A successful candidate will have some or all of the following ...An Associate's degree or two-year technical certificate in Accounting; 4 years accounting support or related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the duties of the job such as those listed above.
Knowledge of:
- Accounts payable systems;
- Recordkeeping procedures;
- Financial software;
- Tax forms and data.
Skill in:
- Using a computer and related software equipment;
- Utilizing mathematics and analytical skills;
- Handling monetary transactions;
- Multi-tasking ability;
- Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with other employees and the general public in order to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
- This is a full-time position. Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. Flexibility is important to us and our employees, schedule may vary based on need.
