The City of Pearland, TX is seeking to hire a full-time Custodian to lead and improve aspects of the day-to-day operations of our Engineering & Public Works department within Facilities Maintenance. The Custodian earns a competitive salary of $12.56 to 13.60/hourly based on qualifications. Additionally, the city pays all premiums for our employees' dental, long-term disability protection, and life insurance plus the majority portion of the medical premium for employees and their dependents. A DAY IN THE LIFE AS THE CUSTODIAN
- Regular and timely attendance at work.
- Sweeps, mops, buffs, and refinishes hard surface floors; vacuums hallways, stairs and office space; shampoos carpeted areas.
- Dusts and/or polishes furniture, woodwork, mini-blinds and other surfaces.
- Washes windows, mirrors, walls, metal and woodwork.
- Sets up meeting rooms for special functions, parties, and training.
- Empties trash and ash cans.
- Cleans and sanitizes rest rooms.
- Replenishes drinking cups, paper towels, toilet paper and other supplies.
- Notifies supervisor of any issues concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
- Contribute to team effort by performing other related duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Any work-related experience resulting in acceptable proficiency levels in the above required knowledge, skills and abilities is an acceptable substitute for the education and experience requirements.
- Valid, Class "C" Texas Driver's License.
