Hiring Range: $49,208.91 to $61,511.13
Trainee Pay Range: $46,423.49 to $58,029.37
FLSA Status: Exempt
Pay Grade: 111 (110 Trainee Pay Grade)
Full Pay Range: $49,208.91 to $73,813.36

Minimum Qualifications for Librarian Adult Services: A Master's degree in Library Science (MLS) from an ALA accredited program OR a Master's degree in a related field and experience in a public library OR any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training in a library setting which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
Trainee minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and one-year library experience in a paraprofessional or professional capacity and a commitment to completion of a Master's Degree in Library Science (MLS) from an ALA accredited institution within two years may be considered for an interim trainee position.
General Statement of Duties:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of: library services, systems and procedures; information resources; reference and searching procedures.
Skill in: using commonly used applications and software including Microsoft Office; proactively using technology to perform job or enhance customer experience.
Ability to: market library programs and services in a variety of formats to a variety of audiences; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, provide outstanding customer service in a professional manner; work in partnership with other libraries and community organizations; introduce library resources and services to users through public speaking, formal and informal presentations, and documentation; exercise initiative, sound judgment and discretion in performance of duties.
Physical and Visual Ability: Sufficient to effectively and safely perform required duties and to safely operate required equipment and city vehicle as needed.
Hearing and Speaking Ability: Sufficient to clearly, concisely and effectively communicate in person and over the telephone.
