Job Description
This position works under the supervision of the Recreation Manager, Recreation Supervisor and/or Preschool Director/Youth Programmer. Location to vary based on opportunity. Job Responsibilities
BUILDING SUPERVISOR-Starting in May
Frequently check the building and remain visible to building users.
Check attendance for classes.Inform those not registered that they must register.
Fill out a building checklist with the person in charge of a rental activity.
Perform light janitorial duties as needed.
Setup & takedown tables and chairs in classrooms.
YOUTH SPORTS COACH
Attend coaches meetings and training programs.
Communicate with Pullman Parks and Recreation Department staff, parents, and players.
Conduct weekly practices and league games.
Teach basic through advanced sport fundamentals and rules of the game.
Distribute appropriate material to players and/or parents.
Teach teamwork, confidence, dedication and sportsmanship.
Familiarity with league rules.
Understand league and department policies and procedures.
Report accidents using approved forms.
ACTIVITY SCOREKEEPER
Keep score for adult and youth sports programs and report them to the program Coordinator.
Communicate with Pullman Parks and Recreation Department staff, managers, and players.
Distribute appropriate material to managers and/or players.
Familiarity with league rules.
Understand league and department policies and procedures.
Report accidents using approved forms.
Assist with field maintenance when necessary.
YOUTH PROGRAMS
Attend meetings and training programs.
Communicate with Pullman Parks and Recreation Department staff, parents, and participants.
Help with organization, planning and leadership of program activities.
Supervise, lead and discipline program participants.
Preserve and care for program equipment and supplies.
Familiarity with youth program rules.
Understand department policies and procedures.
Complete paperwork and maintain hour verification cards.
Report accidents using approved forms.
DAY CAMP COUNSELOR-Summer Starting early June
Attend all meetings and trainings.
Planning of weekly lessons plans.
Help with organization and leadership of program activities.
Organizing equipment and supplies.
Communicate with Pullman Parks & Recreation Department staff, parents, and participants.
Supervise, lead and discipline program participants.
Familiarity with specific program rules.
Understand departmental policies and procedures.
Complete administrative paperwork as needed.
This position"s responsibilities may also include: planning weekly lesson plans, organization and coordinating equipment and supplies, and providing high levels of customer service.
This position may also support other recreation programs such as Special Events and other activities and programs that the department sponsors which may require working split shifts, evenings, early mornings, weekends, and holiday. Minimum Qualifications
