Maintenance Worker position will focus on providing exceptional experiences for our park patrons by supporting events throughout the City.
The Events Logistic Team is responsible for supporting over 150 events and programs for various City Departments in a variety of locations and venues.
- Delivery, set up and take down of tents, tables, chairs, staging, generators, bleachers, PA systems and other equipment to support events and programs. This will require some night and weekend work.
- Performs repair work, preventative maintenance and cleaning on chairs, tables, tents, staging, bleachers, and equipment.
- Pickup and delivery of office furniture, surplus property and moving of other items as required.
- Power-washes picnic tables shelters and paved areas through the parks system.
- Assists in the collection of refuse and recycling throughout the Park system.
- Responds to customer request and issues.
- Completes check sheets and work orders as assigned.
- Assists the City in cleanup and repair during inclement weather situations
- Will require working extended hours and weekends to support events, refuse collection and during storm events.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Education and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED and one year of maintenance or customer service experience related to assignment.
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.
Licensing/Certifications- Valid North Carolina Class C Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record, or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
