Job Description
Raleigh Parking is one of seven divisions within the City of Raleigh’s Transportation Department. We efficiently manage the City’s parking operations and assets while providing on-street and off-street parking services for residents, businesses, and visitors. We aim for accountability, transparency and superior customer service while striving to improve parking opportunities to meet the needs of the City’s continues growth and development. It is our mission to serve our residential and business communities by providing quality customer service along with an efficient turnover rate of on-street parking through diligent enforcement of authorized regulations, with integrity and empathy.
A Parking Ambassador is a full-time position devoted to providing customer service and parking regulation enforcement. We are looking for the ideal candidate who fully supports Raleigh Parking’s mission and ideals, with passion! This position will provide semi-skilled work while patrolling and monitoring assigned enforcement areas. Work may include responding to customer concerns, providing directions for customers, issuing citations or warnings for parking violations and booting vehicles for unpaid citations.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Patrols and monitors assigned enforcement areas and issue citations for improperly parked vehicles; boot vehicle as required for unpaid parking citations.
- Provides directions to customers for appropriate location of building.
- Responds to routine questions or concerns and provides information related to parking procedures and ordinances.
- Reviews and verifies information related to parking time allotment; monitors vehicles parked over time limits and determines violation.
- Organizes and maintains activity records, logs, and citation-related documentation.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
Typical Qualifications
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED and one year of customer service experience.
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.
Licensing/Certifications
- Valid North Carolina Class C Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.

Medium Work:

Working Conditions:
Work is performed in both the field and in an indoor office environment with moderate exposure to hazardous physical conditions (such as mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibration, etc.); frequent exposure to atmospheric conditions (such as fumes, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, etc.); frequent exposure to environmental conditions (such as disruptive people, imminent danger, or a threatening environment); and moderate exposure to extreme temperatures and inadequate lighting.
