The Business Solutions team helps manage a portfolio of over 170 applications across all city functions and departments. This opportunity is for someone who has in-depth experience working with large-scale enterprise Business applications such as ERP (Enterprise Resource management), Asset Management, Land Management and Permitting systems.
As a Lead Systems Analyst, you will be optimizing applications to meet our individual department's business needs and enhancing system functionality and performance. In this role, you will also be providing everyday support to your application users and serve as a liaison between the business and IT. This role requires a strong blend of backend technology skills and excellent customer-facing abilities.
This position performs tasks within the Senior Systems Analyst job classification and includes additional Lead duties. These lead duties, while performed, (listed below under role and responsibilities) will be recognized with a 7% premium pay added to base salary.

As a Lead:
- Participate in recruiting technical personnel.
- Provide training to technical personnel.
- Delegate work and assignment to team members.
- Collaborate with team members to identify and fix technical problems.
- Create goals and objectives for team.
- Provide oversight and coordination of application updates and patches.
- Supervise the planning and implementation of system modifications.
- Guide team through technical issues and challenges.
- Act as a primary point of contact for Project Managers.
- Responsible for identifying resource capacity, measuring, and managing work. allocation within that capacity, and providing regular reports on capacity utilization and planning.
- Work with the City’s departments to understand their business problems and technology needs in the application areas.
- Analyze complex business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for large-scale enterprise applications like ERP systems.
- Lead and participate in the design, development, testing, and implementation of customizations, enhancements, and upgrades to the assigned Business systems.
- Customize and administer large-scale Business Enterprise applications utilizing low-code tools available within the application interface.
- Provide expertise in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Business applications, including identifying root causes, and implementing permanent solutions.
- Integrate business applications by employing various data mapping techniques and technologies.
- Generate reports using the application data.
- Conduct performance tuning and optimization of on-premise systems to ensure optimal efficiency and scalability.
- Minimum qualifications include any combination of education and experience that provides the desired knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential duties of the position.
- Bachelor's degree in computer information systems, business or related field or equivalent of experience.
- 5 years experience in analyzing, designing, developing, procuring, testing and maintaining information systems.
- 2 years project management experience is preferred.
- Valid Washington State Driver's License and a driving record that meets city standards.
