SUMMARY OF DUTIES: |
The Planner I is an entry-level position that is primarily responsible for review of cases that are of low to moderate complexity, such as subdivision and site plan development proposals. The incumbent will interact and coordinate with Planner II and Planning Director as well as other City Departments as necessary; provide written and verbal information to Planning Director and committees as directed; and participate in various special projects and studies as assigned. |
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: |
Formal Education: Bachelor's Degree in Urban Planning or a related field from an accredited school or university. Relatable Work Experience: Any experience that exposed the candidate to public sector urban planning (such as coursework, government internships, job shadowing, or the like) is preferred. Additional relevant work experience resulting in acceptable proficiency levels in the above knowledge, skills, and education requirements may be substituted in lieu of specific education requirements. Training (License and/or Certification): Texas Class C driver's license. Membership in American Planning Association (APA) is preferred. |
