Position Summary:
Under general supervision performs confidential clerical and secretarial duties. Performs administrative duties associated with the efficient operations of the Fire Department.
Essential Job Functions:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
1. Assist the Fire Chief in organizing day-to-day departmental operations. Participates in the administration of policies and procedures. Type correspondences which may be of confidential matter.
2. Responsible for department payroll. Process information for any special payouts for Fire employees per Collective Bargaining Agreement.
3. Responsible for administering Accumed billing.
4. Arranges and registers department training classes and make reservations, if needed.
5. Gathers information, analyzes data, and assists the Fire Chief in the preparation of annual budget requests. Assists in the administration of the departmental budget and ensures that the authorized budgetary procedure is properly used.
6. Maintain all department records.
7. Process purchase orders for department and orders supplies and equipment.
8. Prepares reports requested by the Fire Chief, and those required by the State or other entities. Attends meetings, completes special projects, performs research and makes presentations as required.
9. Completes FOIA requests.
10. Work with the public and attorneys.
11. Handle answering multiple phones and phone calls.
12. Any requests from the Fire Chief.
13. Assess and destroy documents per the city’s records retention schedule.
14. Must sign a confidentiality agreement.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.00 per hour
