City of Riverview Police Officer

Although the City of Riverview Police Dept is fully staff at the moment. The Leadership desires to hire additional Police Officers to possibly help out in high crime and drug activity areas with a strong Police Presence to further deter criminal activity.

City of Riverview is looking for a professional and dedicated Police Officers. We are looking to hire Police Officers who are self-motivated and have a true desire to protect and serve. This is a challenging, yet extremely rewarding profession. We are in search of candidates who can work both independently and as part of a team. Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, be in good physical condition, and have a vested interest in working with the community to prevent and solve crimes. Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and preferably at least one year of experience in law enforcement.

Requirements:

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a background check and a drug test.
• MO POST Law Enforcement Class A License (MANDATORY)

Responsibilities:

• Observe and obey all laws.
• Have a good understanding of local, state, and constitutional laws.
• Investigate crimes and other incidents. Obtain all pertinent information, conduct thorough investigations, secure crime scenes, gather evidence, photograph and process crime scenes, gather witness statements, etc.
• Detect suspicious activity and investigate potential criminal activity.
• Coordinate responses to emergency situations with other emergency management personnel.
• Prepare detailed written and oral reports for court proceedings.
• Identify suspects of crimes and make arrests when necessary.
• Conduct traffic enforcement, issue citations/warnings as necessary.
• Effectively communicate with the public to enhance community relations and build a great rapport with the community.
• Be able to make sound decisions in highly stressful situations and be able to act upon them accordingly.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $54,000.00 per year
