Under the general direction of the Aquatics Manager, the Aquatics Supervisor supervises pool staff and assists the Aquatics Manager in training lifeguards. The Pool Supervisor also enforces all policies, rules, and regulations. The Aquatics Supervisor uses first aid equipment, aquatic rescue equipment, and water exercise equipment, including, but not limited to kick-boards, fins, pull buoy, life jackets, and hand buoys. The work is performed in both an indoor and outdoor pool facility. The employee may be exposed to adverse weather conditions as well as humidity, ultra-violet rays, pool chemicals and chlorinated water.
1. Pool Supervision
- Supervises pool staff.
- Lifeguard when required.
- Assists in training lifeguards.
- Enforces facility policies, rules and regulations.
- Maintains a safe atmosphere by allowing only the proper use of equipment and instructs participants in these methods.
- Allows participation in activity only under supervised circumstances.
- Recognizes and corrects unsafe conditions.
- Provides and directs educational, organized and fun experiences for participants in instructional activities.
- Provides quality customer service.
- Follow daily pool schedule by moving equipment and turning on/off water features at designates times.
2. Administration
- Prepares & completes attendance records, county weekly pool / spa operation report, lesson plans, accident reports, supervisor reports, incident reports, evaluation reports and deposit reports as required.
- Ensures that participants are appropriately registered and qualified to participate in activity supervised.
3. Miscellaneous
- Educates patrons concerning basic skills, rules, and safe conduct.
- Supervises daily activities of pool’s support services (i.e. concession, cashier, maintenance).
- Supervises the storage of equipment and cleaning of facility.
- Monitors and tests for pool water quality. Maintains records of tests.
- Attends all required meetings and in-service trainings.
- Move and operate chair lift.
- Performs other duties as required/assigned.
