ANIMAL SERVICES PROGRAM COORDINATOR
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Under the direction of the Animal Services Manager, the Program Coordinator develops, implements, and evaluates programs, which increase the number of animals placed or adopted, in support of achieving and sustaining as 90% or higher live release outcome rate. Develops strategies and accumulates resources for volunteer, community service, foster, rescue and outreach programs. Plans, coordinates, and conducts special events, both off-site and at the shelter. Guides staff, volunteers and community workers in best practice and positive public interactions.
EXAMPLES OF WORK:
Essential Duties*
Develops and oversees the programs, initiatives, and services that support the shelter’s goal to achieve and sustain a 90% live outcome goal; recruits and retains volunteers, fosters, and rescue partners.
Manages, coordinates, and participates in the day-to-day operations of assigned program area(s) including communications, coordination, and physical transport of animals.
Coordinates, implements, monitors, and evaluates each program’s effectiveness and implements improvements strategies utilizing feedback of staff, volunteers, partner organizations, and shelter data.
Develops performance measures for assigned program area(s); and monitors progress toward goals, ultimately resulting in an increased live outcome rate and positive public perception of the shelter.
Maintains records, logs, and documentation for assigned areas; prepares reports and graphs; responds to public inquires.
Determines priorities and prepares schedules to ensure adequate staff and volunteer coverage across scheduled hours of special events.
Provides leadership to resolve disputes and mediate disputes at the lowest level.
Other Important Duties*
Cover receptionist during absences and lunches.
Performs other such duties as may be assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
High school diploma or the equivalent. One-year related experience preferred.
Possess Texas driver’s license and maintain good driving record.
-Starting Pay: $22.55/hour -Position Will Remain Open Until Filled
