Job Posting for Street Maintenance Worker at City of Shoreview, MN
DESCRIPTION
The City of Shoreview is accepting applications for a Maintenance Worker position in the Streets Division of the Public Works Department.
DUTIES INCLUDE
Install, repair and maintain streets, parking lots, bridges, sidewalks, etc. Including preparing sites and pouring concrete or bituminous materials.
Plow and sweep streets, parking lots and sidewalks.
Install and repair storm water lines.
Install, maintain and/or repair traffic signs.
Entry into confined spaces (manholes) and work in high places (bucket truck).
Perform duties in accordance with appropriate safety and security standards.
Perform routine safety checks and inspections on vehicles and equipment.
Maintain accurate work records.
Perform general labor including frequently lifting and/or moving up to 75 lbs. and occasionally lifting and/or moving more than 100 lbs.
Other duties and special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Valid Driver's License; with ability to obtain MN Commercial Driver's License Class A and tanker endorsement within 1 year of hire.
6 months maintenance work experience.*
6 months experience operating trucks and other light equipment.*
Ability to lift and/or move 75-100 lbs.
Ability to enter confined spaces and work in high places.
The final candidates will be required to take and pass a drug test & physical exam.
Vocational or Technical degree in related field may be substituted for experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Vocational/technical graduate with training in street repair and maintenance.
Current Class A or B CDL license.
Additional experience in general maintenance.
Experience operating dump/plow trucks and street maintenance equipment.
Experience in street maintenance.
OTHER
Hours: 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.; subject to call back and unscheduled overtime
Hiring Wage Range: $30.11 – $33.22 per hour, plus excellent benefits.
(2024 Full Wage Range: $30.11 - $36.61 per hour)
