- Reads water meters on an assigned route and records findings; makes special readings as directed.
- Performs minor field inspections and reports findings.
- Reports unusual cases to the supervisor.
- May be required to participate in the snow removal program or assist in the repair and servicing of meters.
- Operates an automobile or pickup truck.
- Operates a hand-held computer.
- Performs related work as required.

- Experience: No previous experience is necessary. Must be able to write legibly, and accurately make simple mathematical computations.
- License: Possession of a valid driver's license.
