Position Purpose/Summary
Responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing activities for the elder affairs programs. Conducts social, educational, cultural, and recreational activities with existing resources within the community. Creates new ways of meeting the needs of the elderly while incorporating the needs of the next generation entering the senior population. Work is performed under the supervision of the Director of Elder Affairs. No supervision is exercised over other employees.
Essential Functions
Creates promotional materials and distributes them through multiple avenues both verbal and written.
Purchases event items and office supplies.
Handles outreach delivery materials.
Performs other related duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to meet goals and aggressive deadlines.
Experience in publication processes.
Must be able to relate well with older citizens.
Extensive knowledge of social, cultural, and recreational needs of the elderly.
