Position Specifications

Incumbents in this position work in collaboration with Physicians to oversee primary health care to incarcerated patients within the City Justice Center by providing oversight for complete physical examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of disorders. This position plans and implements health care goals approved by the Chief Medical Officer; oversees medical clinical coverage and consults with Physician to coordinate care plan; evaluates assessment data and conducts quality assurance studies of chart documents and quality of care to patients; and acts as an advocate for incarcerated patients in their health needs.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Clinical Psychology, or a related field; plus four years of professional experience in a multidisciplinary mental health and/or substance abuse program, which includes some experience in administrative management and/or clinical supervision. OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Licenses: Must possess a license to practice as a Registered Nurse and a certificate to practice as a Nurse Practitioner issued by the Missouri Board of Registered Nursing. Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of filing application and be able to present it upon request. CITY RESIDENTS PREFERENCE POINTS: City residents who pass an examination for a position in the classified service and do not receive any other preference will receive a five (5) point preference on a scale of 100 points on the exam. An additional one (1) point shall be added to the passing score of City residents who receive any other preference on a scale of 100 points. City residents must have resided in the City for at least one (1) year at the time of filing their application to be eligible for the preference points.
