Join our team at the City of Sunnyvale’s Environmental Services Department and play a vital role in safeguarding our community's environmental health! We are seeking a dynamic individual to serve as the Principal Water Pollution Control Plant Operator, overseeing operations at the Sunnyvale Water Pollution Control Plant (SWPCP).

The Environmental Services Department manages the City’s environmental utility services, ensuring the efficient operation of potable and recycled water systems, sanitary and storm sewer systems, and wastewater treatment facilities. Our ongoing improvement projects aim to enhance efficiency, produce more recycled water, and bolster resilience to climate change.

As the Principal Plant Operator, you'll lead a team in supervising plant operations, maintaining equipment, ensuring compliance with regulations, and coordinating emergency response measures. The ideal candidate will possess:

• Demonstrated supervisory experience in water pollution control plant operations.
• Proficiency in standard operating procedures specific to wastewater treatment plants.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with mechanical support sections.
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to interpret technical documents.
• Commitment to safety principles and regulatory compliance.
• Familiarity with wastewater treatment systems and equipment.
