Summary The Financial Analyst performs routine general accounting functions and may work in different finance functional areas as needed. Assists with reconciliation, processing financial transactions, and operating budgets.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesReviews and monitors construction job cost accounting and projects for City construction contracts Monitors and tracks grant accounting and grant compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and specific requirements of the grantsAssists with the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements, reports, and the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report Conducts data analyses and generates related reports Assists with preparation of the annual operating and capital budgetsAssists auditors with annual audit of the financial recordsFollows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelinesPerforms other duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related fieldFive (5) years of experience in public accounting or governmental accountingProficient in MS Office SuiteCertificates, Licenses, RegistrationsCPA/CGFO Certification preferred
