Job Posting for Public Works Director at CITY OF VERNON

Directs and oversees operations of the following Public Works Departments, Water Dept., Wastewater Treatment Plant, Street Dept., Parks, Recreation and Cemetery Dept., Fleet Maintenance and Garage, and Solid Waste. This position reports directly to the City Manager. A bachelor's degree (BS) from a four-year college or university in Engineering or related technical field is required. Minimum of five years related experience that includes two years of management experience. Work experience may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree if acceptable to City Manager.

The individual must have a valid Texas drivers License.

Preference is given to individuals that are licensed by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality as Certified Water Operator C, and as a Certified Wastewater Operator B or the ability to obtain those licenses.
