Administrative Services Department Director/Assistant City Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic individual to serve as the Administrative Services Department Director/Assistant City Manager for the City of Warrensburg. This pivotal role encompasses oversight of internal service delivery and support functions, including Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Municipal Court. Additionally, the incumbent will play a crucial role in long-term planning, city special elections, departmental management, and providing support to the City Manager, Mayor, and City Council.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all internal service delivery functions, ensuring efficient and effective support for city departments.
  • Serve as a key liaison to the City Manager, providing support on major projects, supervising staff, and facilitating the resolution of departmental matters.
  • Assist in the development and administration of the annual city budget, including forecasting funds and implementing necessary adjustments.
  • Coordinate staff support for various boards and commissions, representing the City Manager's Office with professionalism and dedication.
  • Attend City Council meetings and stand ready to represent the City Manager as required.
  • Establish performance targets for departmental staff, conduct evaluations, and contribute to the city's strategic planning initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the City Manager on special projects and initiatives as needed.

The annual salary for this position ranges from $79,868.67 - $119,781.58 contingent upon experience and qualifications. The City of Warrensburg provides a comprehensive benefits package, encompassing health insurance, dental and vision plans, as well as fully funded retirement through LAGERS. This position is non-exempt.

Minimum Requirements:7 years of related experience in Human Resources or Finance; or a master’s degree from a university; or combined experience. Acceptable degrees are finance, accounting, business management, human resources, and public administration.

Preferred Training: Certified Public Finance Officer through GFOA, ICMA credentialed manager, 7 year’s experience in municipal government and a master’s degree in a related field.
