BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of this position is to provide direction and support for programs and staff and assist in the planning, development and implementation of nursing programs and services. This is accomplished by developing and reviewing policies, writing and maintaining grants, developing and coordinating outreach campaigns, scheduling staff and assigning and monitoring tasks. Other duties include providing nursing services, and working with patients and caregivers.
LICENSING REQUIREMENTS:
Must be a Registered Nurse licensed to practice in the State of Texas. Must be CPR and First Aid Certified.
Driver’s License Required – Y Type - C
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants must have the ability to wear and use the N95 respirator to perform essential functions of the Public Health Nurse position. Must meet immunizations requirements after employment begins.

2 L Maintains program staffing by participating in the hiring process, scheduling and directing tasks and assignments, providing staff training and related services, monitoring assignments and results, and documenting actions.
3 L Manages programs by maintaining and updating policies and procedures, submitting regular reports of clinic activities, preparing grant applications, monitoring expenditures, coordinating and scheduling outreach activities, providing information to the public, and assisting in clinics as needed or required.
4 L Works with programs and provides services by reviewing reports of clinic activities, conducting investigations on specific communicable diseases, completing labs, entering information into databases, and providing emergency response as required.
5 S Reviews programs and serves on committees by reviewing programs in place, completing peer reviews, discussing staff needs and client issues, researching and reviewing grant opportunities, reviewing and controlling exposures, and reviewing quality assurance measures.
