under the direct supervision of the Crew Leader performs skilled tasks related to the day-to-day maintenance and repair of City infrastructure including streets, right of ways, parks and other City properties. The Operator Performs various standard tasks using a wide variety of manual and powered equipment including, but not limited to drills, power saws, shovels, rakes, walk behind mowers, weed eater. edger, zero turn mower, backhoe and other tractors. Drives a variety of light to heavy duty vehicles on a daily basis such as city trucks, assist with over all maintenance and care of vehicles and equipment and assists with the maintenance and repair of curbing, pavements, and sidewalks, culverts, storm drains. Assists with installation of street signs and the striping of streets and parking lots.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Performs general landscaping work including mowing, trimming, weeding, mulching, and planting. Performs brush pickup; chips brush; and transports to landfill sites. Heavy equipment operation, equipment transport.

Assists in the maintenance of parks, roadsides and other City facilities and properties. Removes trash and yard waste from parks, right of ways, and other public spaces. Prepares and paints surfaces both interior and exterior. Cleans facilities including offices, shops, and bathrooms.

Keeps and maintains all records and documentation of equipment status as well as work performed.

Additional Tasks and Responsibilities

Ensures the proper maintenance of equipment and tools by cleaning and checking equipment and tools after use. Participates in stand-by status during natural disasters or inclement weather.

Utilizes proper safety precautions related to all work performed and adheres to all departmental and Village safety policies.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent,

1 year public works experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $14.50 per hour
