Under the direction of the Utility Billing Manager, the Senior Account Clerk is responsible for performing critical activities to prepare, process, and maintain water usage and water bills. Responsibilities include daily phone contact with water and sewer customers concerning their billing questions and concerns; direct involvement with The Treasurer’s Office in regard to payments; and outreach to customers in the form of call backs, emails and/or fax requests.Bilingual and multilingual applicants are encouraged to apply. Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Knowledge of data processing procedures Knowledge of general office practices Knowledge of basic business accounting billing processes Excellent customer service skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Computer proficiency, including the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite Ability to work with and preserve confidential files/material Ability to use digital documents and filing systems Ability to learn, understand, and follow written/verbal policies, procedures, and instructions Ability to quickly learn relevant information and systems Ability to solve problems according to written instructions of specifications Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team Ability to maintain professionalism with challenging customers Minimum Requirements High School diploma/GED or equivalent Previous experience working with financial information such as billing, collections, payable/receivables, etc. Previous experience in a professional environment in a clerical role Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Preferred Qualifications Associates degree in Business, Finance, or related field Two (2) years of experience with Utility Billing Two (2) years of customer service experience in an office environment One (1) year of experience using billing software SALARY RANGE: $20.56 - $24.77 hourly, full-time, with an excellent benefits package.
