Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. As a Substance Abuse Counselor, you will play a crucial role in providing support and guidance to individuals struggling with substance abuse issues. Your primary responsibility will be to assess clients, develop treatment plans, and facilitate individual and group therapy sessions. Duties

- Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine the severity of substance abuse issues

- Develop individualized treatment plans based on clients' needs and goals

- Provide psychotherapy and counseling services to individuals and groups

- Monitor clients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary

- Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with HIPAA regulations

Skills

To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:

- Strong knowledge of substance abuse disorders, treatment modalities, and recovery principles

- Proficiency in conducting assessments using standardized tools

- Experience in providing individual and group therapy sessions

- Familiarity with case management principles and practices

- Knowledge of medical records documentation, including ICD-10 coding

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

- Ability to establish rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
