Work Location:100% Remote Position Overview City Year’s Operations department is seeking a proficient data analyst to manage the data operation needs of City Year sites in Market 3. This role reports to the Senior Director of Impact Data and will be a part of the Data Experience team focused on empowering sites to make important operational decisions using timely and accurate data supported by powerful visuals. The team will support each other in understanding and developing a depth of knowledge regarding student impact data. While the team largely works remotely, the Impact Data Manager may be asked to travel to visit their sites once or twice a year. The Impact Data Manager will manage the technical and operational aspects of sites data entry needs. This role will manage district relationships for data collection and entry. This role will support at least two sites with these duties. The anticipated start date for this position is March 1. Compensation commensurate with experience; the salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000. Full-time employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with experience. Job Description Job Responsibilities Data Entry and Management Implement systems to ensure data accuracy and accessibility in City Year’s core systems (cyschoolhouse, Power BI, etc.) Build systems and strategies to address root causes of errors Collect, manage and analyze data throughout the year ensuring connection of information from one system to another Collect and generate impact reports for sites to assess progress towards weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual goals for internal and external stakeholders Ensure tracking systems are implemented to collect necessary data to monitor progress, analyze results, visualize pertinent information and share with relevant stakeholders adhering to FERPA and City Year’s student data security policy guidance. Maintain a schedule of data cleaning practices throughout the year Training and Coaching Coach site staff on data and reports Lead facilitation of trainings of data practices with site point and coach on results to make data informed practice decisions Participate in trainings Relationships Work with district personnel to improve City Year site data access, prevent data and student progress monitoring redundancies, and capitalize on existing data Interpret data to answer key strategic site questions Foster data fluency at the site Communicate regularly with Data Experience teammates to increase role efficiency Ensure data submission and validation deadlines are met Ability to create data models, interactive dashboards and reports using leading visualization software platforms (PowerBi, Tableau, etc) Comfort with analyzing large volumes of data and can spot errors and anomalies Proficient in either Excel or SQL, and fluency in other systems to process, manipulate and analyze data Interest and growth mindset to learn DAX Ability to effectively communicate with school district leaders (both academic and technical) about City Year’s data needs Attention to detail and ownership of tasks Basic knowledge of K-12 data systems (preferred) Qualifications Ability to create data models, interactive dashboards and reports using leading visualization software platforms (PowerBi, Tableau, etc) Comfort with analyzing large volumes of data and can spot errors and anomalies Proficient in either Excel or SQL, and fluency in other systems to process, manipulate and analyze data Interest and growth mindset to learn DAX Ability to effectively communicate with school district leaders (both academic and technical) about City Year’s data needs Attention to detail and ownership of tasks Basic knowledge of K-12 data systems (preferred) Benefits Full time employees will be eligible for all benefits including vacation and sick days and organization holidays.
