About the Job

As a NOC (Network Operation Center) Operator at Cityside Fiber, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the continuous operation and optimal performance of our network infrastructure.

The role sits within the Network Engineering team responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization’s network infrastructure to ensure reliable and secure security connectivity.

The team plays a critical role in supporting business operations and enabling efficient communication and data transfer across the network.

This position is responsible for monitoring network elements, responding to incidents, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve issues promptly.

You will operate in a fast-moving and sometimes ambiguous environment and excel in hitting the Company’s objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Understand Cityside Fiber’s core purpose and values and be passionate about what we do.
  • Work in and contribute to an atmosphere of trust and integrity.
  • Monitor network performance and proactively identify potential issues using network management tools.
  • Respond to alarms, alerts, and incidents promptly, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal network performance.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot network-related incidents and outages.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to resolve issues and escalate problems as needed.
  • Document incident details, resolutions, and post-incident reports for continuous improvement.
  • Execute routine maintenance tasks, including software upgrades and configuration changes, during maintenance windows.
  • Work with engineering and operations teams to implement changes in the network infrastructure.
  • Effectively communicate with internal teams, external vendors, and customers to provide updates on incidents and maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless customer experience and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for NOC activities.

Qualifications

  • High energy individual who is willing to be an integral part of a high growth service provider who puts people first, dares to be different and has fun disrupting an industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in network operations, network monitoring, or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., JIRA, Zabbix, Vetro, COS).
  • Familiarity with firewall technologies, VPNs, and security practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Location

Our Headquarters and field offices are located in Irvine, CA. Travel required to local project / customer sites.

Compensation

Starting at $30 per hour (actual starting rate may be higher based on candidate’s qualifications, skills and years of experience.)
