The International Rescue Committee in Dallas, TX welcomes AmeriCorps members in collaboration with CitySquare.
This fall, we invite members to serve their communities in one of these roles:
- The AmeriCorps Success Coach will provide case management services and socioemotional support to a caseload of 8-10 recently arrived refugee high school students/young adults. Schedule: Monday-Friday from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm, and three additional evenings per week from 5:00-7:30pm to meet with youth after school.
- The AmeriCorps Youth Engagement Lead supports the Refugee Youth Mentorship Program (RYMP), which helps newly arrived refugee youth between the ages of 15-21. The member will assist with planning and leading monthly activities, including field trips around the Dallas-Fort Worth area as well as monthly Girls’ Group activities. Schedule: Monday-Friday from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm, and three additional evenings per week from 5:00-7:30pm to meet with youth after school.
- The AmeriCorps Job Readiness and DART Trainer will provide IRC clients with Job Readiness Training and DART Orientation and will help clients develop job preparedness skills by coordinating resume building, bank account creation, and other needed services. Schedule: Monday-Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm.
- The AmeriCorps Immigration Outreach Coordinator and Intake Specialist supports the Resettlement, Asylum, and Integration (RAI) program, which assists the refugee and undocumented community in the DFW area with affirmative immigration cases. The member will support the program by ensuring the community knows about IRC’s low-cost services and will assist with case management and supporting individuals through the steps of the program. Schedule: Monday-Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm.

Benefits of becoming a CitySquare AmeriCorps Member:
- Members will be paid $4,500 (broken down and paid in twice monthly installments during the term- $1,264 per month)

Minimum Qualifications:
- Available from January 8th- April 26, 2024
- Available 32 hours per week during business hours, M-F 8am-5pm, with the possibility of some hours on Saturdays
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Deferred action and temporary permanent resident do not qualify)
- Able to access reliable transportation
- Able to pass a criminal background check
Preferred qualifications:
- Preferred one-year experience in a non-profit setting as a paid employee or volunteer, and/or experience in social work, human service or a related field
