The Security Engineer will test, screen and monitor CIVIC’s security software. They will be the company’s first line of defense against unauthorized access from outside sources and potential security threats. The Security Engineer will pinpoint any potential threats and always be prepared with a plan before any security threats take place. They will also implement and test different strategies to be fully prepared against any cyber-attacks.

What you’ll do:

  • Install, configure, and manage firewalls with intrusion detection devices or system programs.
  • Scan and monitor networks for possible vulnerabilities and invasions.
  • Report security issues to IT management and recommend security enhancements as needed.
  • Perform assessments and penetration testing.
  • Conduct scans of networks to find vulnerabilities.
  • Be aware and alert of irregular system behavior.
  • Lead investigations into how breaches happen.
  • Assist with installation of software to help with notifications of invasions
  • Develop automation scripts to handle and track incidents.
  • Handle all firewalls and data encryption programs.
  • Test security solutions using industry standard analysis criteria.
  • Aware of current cybersecurity trends with continued research to make recommendation for improvements.

 

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 6-8 years’ experience in IT security or equivalent experience, preferably in the mortgage or banking industry.
  • Current Security Certifications such as CISSP or CISM.
  • Extensive knowledge of security software such as Firewalls, Anti-virus, Anti-SPAM, Anti-Spyware, WAF, Vulnerability Scans and other security related technologies.
  • Knowledge of DLP and NAC platforms, such as Digital Guardian and FortiNAC.
  • Knowledge of ProofPoint and FortiGate a plus.
  • Proficiency in JAVA, PythonNet, C , and PowerShell.
  • Must be detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple assignments effectively
  • Demonstrated understanding and comprehension of cybersecurity methodologies
  • Able to multi-task and perform any task required by specific job situation
