What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Inspector position at Civil Science?
Civil Science is seeking a qualified Construction Inspector to join our team. In this vital role, you will be essential to the success of the firm and its various transportation related construction projects. The selected candidate will work closely with project managers, clients, and various staff on a daily basis. This exciting career opportunity can be in our Idaho Falls, Idaho office but location considerations will be made for qualified candidates.
Requirements
- A general knowledge of construction techniques and an ability to read plans and specifications is mandatory
- Maintaining daily logs of inspections and reviewing any discrepancies with the proper parties
- Assures the quality of the contractors work
- This position will perform on-site daily observation of the contractor's construction work and compare the work product to the project's approved plans and specification
- 18 months of prior experience with technical infrastructure related construction projects, DOT experience preferred.
- Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass both a criminal background check and driving record review
- Candidates with Civil Engineering or Construction Management Bachelors degree will also be considered.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have:
- Previous DOT experience
- WAQTC/IQP’s
- Highway testing experience and certifications ex. Flexible Pavement Test and Aggregate Level I
