GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The MST Therapist will provide intensive, in home, community-based treatment for children with antisocial and/or delinquent behaviors, including ongoing substance abuse. This individual will identify strengths and challenges of the adolescent, the family, and their transactions with extra familial systems. In addition, the Therapist will emphasize promoting behavior change in the youth’s natural environment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or related behavioral science
- Receipt of provision license (LMSW, LPC-A, or LMFT-A)
- Skilled in therapeutic interventions, advocacy, and crisis intervention
- Ability to function independently
- Personal Effectiveness/Credibility
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
- Communication Proficiency
- Collaboration Skills
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Initiate face to face contact with each family within 48 hours from the time of referral to MST.
- Provide comprehensive MST treatment to each family that is individualized and family oriented.
- Collaborate with the family in developing an enduring social support network in the natural environment.
- Have MST therapist provide a range of goal-educated services to each client and family.
- Submit a monthly written progress report to the referring Probation Officer.
- Discuss termination recommendation with referring Probation Officer.
- Conduct a termination interview with the family to summarize the progress made during treatment.
