We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join our fast-paced accounting team. As the Assistant Controller, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations. Reporting directly to the Controller, you will be responsible for the oversight of at least two direct reports and assist with a wide range of accounting operations and reporting.
Reviewing financial statements and analyzing variances to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Overseeing the allocation process to ensure proper distribution of expenses and revenues.
Assisting in the management of audits, including coordination with external auditors and regulatory agencies.
Providing support during federal audits, including gathering documentation and responding to inquiries.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and implement best practices.
Monitoring compliance with internal policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements.
Playing a proactive role in identifying risks and implementing controls to mitigate them.
Assist in the implementation of Inact ERP system
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
Experience working in a grant funded non-profit environment, preferably with federal grants.
Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting requirements.
Experience with audits, including familiarity with auditing standards and procedures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
