The Core Business at CK Supply is Industrial Gases, Welding Supplies and Dry Ice. The Sales Trainee position works with the Regional Sales Managers as well as the Account Managers and other departments to achieve customer satisfaction and sales goals. The Sales Trainee will assist with sales calls, answer client questions, prepare reports, process order requests and review contracts and agreements while building customer relationships, increasing technical knowledge, and providing excellent customer service.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create, develop, and maintain customer relationships as well as internal relationships.
  • Identify customer process improvements and recommend appropriate equipment to meet the needs identified.
  • Identify new customers in the assigned sales area and build a base of potential customers.
  • Assist Account Managers with quotes, research, and occasional deliveries.
  • Provide store operations support when staffing is needed due to meetings, vacations, or other absences (open, close, coverage, etc.) Cross training in different departments at CK will develop a well-rounded set of skills for this role.
  • Support and assist other team members in providing excellent service to all customers.
  • Meet with the Regional Sales Manager weekly to discuss goals, challenges and share needed information.
  • Responsible for market share support in CK's servicing area
  • Complete reporting requirements in a timely manner
  • Follow and enforce all safety guidelines and requirements including proper personal protective equipment for employees and visitors.
  • Adhere to the CK Core Values through behavior and words
  • Other duties, as assigned, within the job classification and business

QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent Required
  • A clean driving record for the last 7 years Required.
  • 2 years of customer service experience and/or industrial sales experience Preferred.
  • Welding processes and compressed gasses knowledge Preferred.
  • Must have a basic understanding of the typical sales cycle process.
  • Exhibit strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to develop long-term relationships through short interactions and genuine connection based on sincere interest in helping customers succeed.
  • Develop and provide "solution selling" skills.
  • Eager to learn new information and apply it quickly.
  • Willing to work independently as well as with the team.
  • Possess strong computer skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be skilled at balancing multiple tasks while setting priorities and adjust to changing needs as the situation may require.
