CK Supply is seeking a highly motivated, outgoing person to work in our technical applications department. This position is multi-faceted where every day is a new experience and challenge. Our technical department is stocked with the latest welding and cutting equipment technology available from a variety of our suppliers such as Miller Electric, Lincoln Electric, OTC Daihen, Hypertherm, Koike Aronson, ESAB and many others to bring the best solutions available to our customers. Selling, developing and conducting various educational workshops at our facility and out in the field is a major part of this position, where speaking in front of small and large groups would be expected. Additionally, in this role you will also work closely with the company's inside and outside sales staff and customers to provide a wide variety of application assistance, both in-house and out in the field.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide demonstrations of new product offerings for sale to customers and employees.
- Train individuals to safely use and operate welding equipment and machines.
- Answer technical questions regarding welding processes, applications, and equipment from customers and potential customers.
- Utilize AWS standards to create and design weld training programs and custom training programs to customers for use in the field and in the Tech Center using products offered by the Company.
- Promote and sell training services to existing and new customers.
- Teach techniques for various welding needs using the skills and understanding obtained from personal and professional experiences.
- Evaluate new welding products from vendors.
- Set up and maintain welding equipment for use within the Tech Center.
- Responsible for the accurate inventory of the Tech Center equipment and supplies.
- Practice all safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct training classes for customers on automated and manual welding equipment.
- Communicate and maintain a core working relationship with the sales force, customer service team, and all other CK employees.
- Assist the customer service and sales team in fielding questions customers may have regarding welding related needs.
- Follow and enforce all safety guidelines and requirements including proper personal protective equipment for employees and visitors.

QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Two year Technical or Vocational school certification (CWI or CWE) with 2 years of experience in the welding industry or 5 years of fabrication experience.
- Must be proficient and possess a strong fundamental technical knowledge of the following processes:
- Gas Tungsten Arc Welding
- Gas Metal Arc Welding
- Shielded Metal Arc Welding with both plate and pipe welding experience preferred.
- Flux Cored Welding
- Oxy-Fuel Cutting
- Plasma Arc Cutting
- Experience with steel, stainless steel, and aluminum in the forms of both plate and pipe is a plus.
- A positive attitude and strong customer service skills are required for success in this role.
- Comfortable speaking in front of groups for training and educational seminars.
- Comfortable selling training services to customers using prior experience and industry knowledge to establish expertise.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Must be able to maneuver and operate all equipment and tools.
- Ability to work some evening hours and Saturday hours as training demands may require.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to read, count and write to accurately complete necessary paperwork
- Must be able to perform heavy work routinely, lifting up to 75 pounds at a time
- Visual acuity as needed to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to stoop, twist, kneel, bend, and reach regularly
- Must be able to hear to help students answer questions/concerns

REQUIRED SAFETY EQUIPMENT
All proper safety equipment must be worn according to company policies and regulations including safety glasses, safety boots, and ear protection.
