Position Description:
To ensure that delivery service is efficient, safe, and claim-free. Develop and maintain good customer relations both internally and externally
- Position Responsibilities:
- Must be able to work required hours
- Come to work on time everyday as scheduled
- Work safely – maintain safe driving record
- Operate company vehicle in a safe manner by applying knowledge and skills in maneuvering vehicle at varying speeds in difficult situations such as heavy traffic, inclimate weather, or in tight loading dock areas.
- Perform inspections on equipment daily
- Ensure equipment defects are reported immediately
- Keep Tractor interior clean and orderly.
- Treat others with dignity, follow company code of conduct
- Perform pickup and delivery service on designated assignment within standards of CKT’s system.
- Unload and load trailer, either with or without assistance of shipping and receiving associates, with or without mechanical freight handling equipment.
- Properly perform task to assure safety and to prevent damage to product.
- Maintain security of freight and equipment.
- Fully support all technologies and processes, introduced by CK, that are intended to improve efficiencies and/or the customer experience. Support would include adherence to training programs, guidelines and processes associated with these systems.
- Ensure all shipment paperwork required to move with shipments are properly completed and that appropriate paperwork accompanies each shipment when delivered/picked up.

- Educational/Other Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Valid CDL
- Minimum of 2 yrs experience in operating a Class A truck
- Language Skills Requirements:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and system documentation.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of associates.
- Mathematical Skills Requirements:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to calculate percentage and proportions.
- Reasoning Ability Requirements:
- Ability to actively participate in problem solving activities.
- Ability to apply logic to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
- Physical Requirements:
- Moderate physical movement and exertion
- Successful completion of physical
- Must meet or exceed medical standards of the U.S. Department of Transportation and successfully pass Non-DOT Drug test.
- Must be able to accurately read gauges and dials
- Must be able to enter and exit the vehicle’s cab using footholds and handholds.
- Must be able to spend 80%-90% of the day sitting and driving. May be exposed to heat, cold, dust, irritants, etc.
- Must be able to bend and lift freight when necessary
- Must be able to accomplish hand, arm, leg and foot motions necessary to drive the tractor and twisting, turning, and bending needed to load/unload trailers.
