Junior Accountant Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate ledger; record and document company financial transactions
- Oversee bank reconciliations and balance financial records
- Update vendor information and maintain accurate records
- Keep updated budgets and handle invoices and accounts payable for certain entities
- Prepare and present regular reports about company finances
- Review data to ensure that proper procedures are being followed
- Identify and report any financial discrepancies or irregularities
- Utilize GL system to maintain up-to-date recordkeeping of financial information
- Communicating with internal and external stakeholders regarding financial matters
- Various other ad hoc projects, as needed
Junior Accountant Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in accounting, finance, or business
- At least 2 years of experience in accounting or finance
- Professional accreditation (CPA or CMA) a plus
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and accounting software, preferably QuickBooks
- Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality with regard to company accounts
- Keen attention to detail and the ability to perform accurate work to the highest standards of accountancy
- Able to complete work to deadlines with little direct supervision
- Driven, self-motivated, and goal-oriented
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Reliably commute to Delray Beach, FL
