NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION:
The Welding Instructor - Continuing Education reports directly to the Dean of Career, Technical, and Continuing Education. They have specific responsibilities for teaching continuing education courses within the welding curriculum. They are responsible for the success of the total teaching/learning process within the assigned classroom, laboratory, shop, or other learning environment. Classes will be held day, night, or weekends.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, organize, and prepare training materials and curriculum.
- Teach materials in an engaging and interactive manner to students.
- Perform and carry out the teaching assignment in an effective and efficient manner.
- Prepare students for entry into the workforce.
- Establish and maintain appropriate office hours.
- Work individually and collaboratively with others to recruit new students and work to retain current students.
- Remain current in the teaching discipline through professional development activities; maintain familiarity with recent publications and journals in the teaching discipline; and, participate in local, state, or national professional societies and meetings where appropriate.
- Inventories, maintains, and secures all facilities and equipment charged to the program area including maintaining the cleanliness and updating of lab area and lab stations.
- Support College activities and special events through attendance and/or participation.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Dean of Career, Technical, and Continuing Education, Vice President of Academic Affairs, and/or President.
Salary : $41,600 - $52,700
