What are the responsibilities and job description for the Benefits Manager position at Clario.?
The Benefits Manager will be responsible for plan administration for all U.S. and enterprise-wide employee benefit and recognition plans including group medical, dental, vision, life and disability, retirement savings plans, FMLA, and worker's compensation plans. In addition to U.S. benefits, this role will have the opportunity to work on international benefits.
Primary Responsibilities
Manages the Company's U.S. and enterprise-wide benefit and recognition plans by:
- Performing benefit plan and survey analysis; recommending plan designs and fee structures
- Managing plan documentation and reporting requirements using best practices
- Implementing plan changes including managing the communication and education process
- Developing core processes for data management to ensure plan compliance, data quality and real-time data updates
- Managing vendors and RFP processes where applicable
- Preparing and measuring against the benefit plan budgets
- Identifying trends and opportunities to enhance offering
Administers benefits by:
- Providing analytical, technical and customer service support in the delivery of benefits
- Establishing and validating the benefit change process; working with HRIS analysts to develop and test benefit change workflow
- Answering employee questions in regards to all benefits; acting as liaison between providers and employees where warranted
- Processing monthly health insurance billing for all benefit plans
- Overseeing COBRA administration through third party vendor
- Ensuring company compliance with all state and federal guidelines
- Acting as liaison between third party administrator and employee for leaves of absence
- Assisting in the creation and maintenance of employee recognition and rewards program
Administers company 401k plan by:
- Maintaining 401k plan processes; change management, quality controls, auditing
- Managing enrollment and distribution processes, including loans and hardship withdrawals
- Coordinating and participating in quarterly 401k communication meetings
- Coordinating and participating in the 401k audit process
Manages the U.S. health and welfare renewal process by:
- Leading the annual design process to ensure plans are competitive and cost effective
- Leading open enrollment and mid-year changes to benefit plans including working with broker in preparing communication material utilizing multiple media options
- Collaborating with finance to manage the cost of benefit plans within budget
Maintains employee confidence and protects operations by
- Keeping human resources information confidential
- Complies with Federal, State and Local Requirements by
- Following policies and procedures
- Remaining up to date with continuous changes in health care reform
Assists with departmental initiatives by
- Managing projects as requested
Secondary Responsibilities
Contributes to team effort by
- Exploring new opportunities to add value to organization and departmental processes
- Performing other duties as assigned
Maintains Technical Knowledge by
- Attending and participating in applicable company-sponsored training
- Attending and participating in applicable continuing education in Human Resources
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field required
- CertifiedEmployeeBenefitsSpecialist (CEBS) certification preferred
Experience:
- 10 years' experience in Benefit Administration required
- Strong background administering FMLA, Leave of Absence, temporary disability, COBRA, and 401(k).
- Strong knowledge and understanding of all benefit programs (e.g., Life, Disability, medical, dental, vision, and 401(k), plans
- Experience working with computer software including Word, Excel and Access required
- Strong mathematical aptitude preferred

- Ability to maintain confidentiality a must
- Ability to work in group setting and independently; ability to adjust to changing priorities
- Excellent attention and orientation toward meticulous work; strong organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to maintain professional and positive attitude
