Altura is actively seeking an individual with experience/strong desire to leverage analytics/data to deliver on commercial building commissioning and energy efficiency projects. This person must have exceptional analytical & communications skills, and enjoy working in a team-oriented environment in the pursuit of improving the energy efficiency and sustainability of the built environment. This is a highly collaborative, cross-team position, working with both our building engineers and our software engineers. The person will be focusing on using our building analytics software to directly support our high impact client engagements, while growing and scaling our impact.
Scope & Responsibilities
Deploy, use and maintain Altura Analytics software and databases to execute key deliverables as a member of our client project teams.
Technically lead analytics-focused project work, innovate new solutions, and grow towards developing and demonstrating best practices, processes and techniques to other commissioning and energy engineers.
Work directly with our building engineers to understand how building performance is analyzed, and help refine our analytics/FDD libraries that identify insights and opportunities for building performance improvements.
Collect, synthesize and share feedback with the product development team to continuously enhance our analytics software.
Participate as a member of the software sustaining team that includes: software support, training/education, and 1:1 project team member support.
Work effectively as a member of a dynamic, empowered, professional team.
The preferred work location for this position in proximity to our Newport Beach, CA or Oakland, CA offices. Hybrid at-home/office positions will be considered.
Key Qualifications
Experience in SkySpark or other commercial building analytics software
Experience with building systems, BAS/controls and/or using building performance data from previous energy auditing, commissioning or related experience.
Technically oriented critical thinker and problem-solver
Strong collaborative skills and demonstrated client service attitude
Experience in data analysis, manipulating large datasets, and some experience in programming languages (e.g. python, SQL, axon)
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physical sciences, technology or related field.
Desire to work in a diverse, mission-driven firm
Additional Considerations
Experience in commercial building construction or building facilities operations is a plus
