C E is looking to add an IP Specialist to our Practice Systems team. The hours for this role are 10:00am – 6:00pm, Monday through Friday. This is a great opportunity for individuals with some experience in IP, looking to continue to grow and learn in the area of patent law. Our IP Specialist handle docketing as well as double-checking and submitting patent filings.
The salary range for this role is $50,000 - $70,000 depending on level of prior experience.
Responsibilities May Include:
- Maintain firm docketing database (includes daily docketing and entering new cases into CPi)
- Handle all incoming mail, faxes and courier packages (includes docketing any necessary dates and distribution)
- Docket all correspondence, including foreign associate correspondence and U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (U.S.P.T.O.) correspondence
- Run and post all electronic weekly dockets
- Run daily reports of finals and monitor responses from the legal staff
- Create new matters from conflict memo database
- Review and process incoming and outgoing case transfers
- Review, double-check, and approve U.S.P.T.O. filings on a daily basis.
Skill & Ability Requirements:
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to switch between tasks
- Must be able to work under strict deadlines and be willing, on occasion, to work later than the regularly scheduled time
- Occasionally, individual will work in a high-pressure environment
- Must be able to manage and track many deadlines (ability to multitask)
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of firm personnel
- Possess a high degree of professionalism and diplomacy
- Excellent oral and written communication is essential
- Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to work independently as well as closely with team members
- Excellent computer skills required, including experience with the MSOffice suite and experience with CPi. Experience with iManage and and/or IPDAS highly preferred
- 1-3 years prior docketing and/or patent prosecution double-checking experience required
- Bachelor’s degree required
