The Logistics Project Consultant is responsible for the sustained profitability, integration of best practices, and development of operational efficiencies as it relates to the fulfillment of staged and consolidated order projects for both the multi-unit and institutional market segments of the food service industry. This position serves as a trusted advisor to management, customers, and account managers regarding the complex nuances of opening order consolidation and other forms of project fulfillment.

This position also responds to complex fulfillment issues that can be urgent or unstable and typically can only be completed successfully with limited time. Balancing time between strategic projects and day-to-day customer needs is a critical component for success in the position.?

Responsibilities

The core responsibilities of the Logistics Project Consultant include:

  • Facilitation of “Staged Order” Projects. These projects consist of large orders offered to food service customers in need of a tailored, consolidated order and a pre-scheduled delivery. These orders can consist of either first-time opening orders for new locations or large replenishment orders for existing locations. It is the Logistics Project Consultant's duty to ensure seamless shipping and delivery to the customer and/or facilitate the unpacking and placement of the staged order at the customer’s location.
  • Coordination between Account Managers and Logistics Project Managers. Serve as a vital link within the organization by facilitating effective communication between Account Managers and Logistics Project Managers (LPMs). Ensure seamless collaboration and information flow by coordinating discussions, relaying project updates, and addressing related queries. Maintain a clear understanding of both teams' objectives and priorities, enabling efficient decision-making and successful project outcomes. Serve as a crucial bridge that enhances teamwork, optimizes resource allocation, and promotes overall operational excellence.
  • Consulting on Staged Order Sales. Drive revenue growth and customer satisfaction by partnering with the Sales team to sell staged order services to prospective and existing clients. Leverage persuasive communication skills and process expertise to effectively present the value proposition of staged orders. Collaborate with the sales team to identify opportunities, tailor solutions to meet individual customer needs, and negotiate terms. Employ a customer-centric approach to build relationships, address inquiries, and provide comprehensive support throughout the sales process.


In addition to these three main areas of focus, the Logistics Project Consultant is also responsible for:

  • Communicating closely with the Logistics Project Managers, and updating them on timelines, order changes, or delayed openings.
  • Collaborating with Account Managers, ensuring that all orders and projects are on track to meet each customer’s needs while accounting for any changes or deviations from initial project specifications.
  • Developing strategic and systematic approaches to promote staged order fulfillment that leads to long-term customer satisfaction.
  • Supporting and positively affecting business revenue and profitability by utilizing company and industry knowledge to influence decision-making as it relates to short and long-term initiatives.
  • Providing objective and constructive guidance to managers and stakeholders regarding staged order fulfillment-related priorities and capabilities.
  • Investigating and advising stakeholders on highly urgent fulfillment and project issues.?
  • Analyzing data from various internal systems, composing reports/summaries, and recommending solutions that are consistent with company goals and objectives.
  • Review data trends to develop proactive recommendations that mitigate systemic issues and support the continuous improvement of the department.
  • Promoting the accuracy and timeliness of updating records to ensure effective communications and data quality.
  • Utilizing existing business tools and resources to perform the basic functions of the job.
  • Attend client meetings, Logistics meetings, Business Relations meetings, and Account Executive meetings to ensure alignment on all processes, procedures, and current events.
  • Traveling to company or customer locations (up to 50% of work hours).


Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to explain technical and complex concepts in a simple and concise way to ensure ease of understanding.
  • Strong emotional intelligence with the ability to connect with others both in person and remotely.
  • Professionalism in all interactions, maintaining a polished and respectful demeanor in alignment with the company’s values, especially while communicating with customers.
  • A proven aptitude for driving sales, utilizing persuasive communication and relationship-building skills to effectively promote processes and secure successful transactions.
  • Proficiency with MS Office required (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable working in a high-tech environment.
  • Servant leadership approach with a demonstrated desire to exceed expectations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to quickly adapt as business needs change; ability to address difficult situations with diplomacy and emotional intelligence.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently within a team framework.
  • Business-level proficiency in English.


Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in project management, or sales
