Job Title:Route Delivery Driver

Hours per Week:Approximately 40 hours

Reports to:Route Supervisor

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Maintain and follow all proper safety procedures and policies
• Report to work at adequate time to ensure beginning of route by 7:00 am or earlier
• Prepare paperwork, invoices and truck forms
• Confirm load sheets with loads and ensure loads are properly secured
• Complete pre-trip inspection on power unit and trailer before leaving
• Confirm daily proper operational fluid levels before beginning route
• Note and turn in list on defective parts or material
• Complete daily pre-trip inspections on brakes before route
• Confirm and sign load sheet with supervisor on duty. Confirm any differences
• Maintain consistent delivery times with route schedule especially for “delivery-window” customers
• Rotate and place product in designated areas according to code dates
• Double check money collected vs. total amount due on invoices in presence of person paying.
• Have the customer sign the bottom of the invoice
• Greet all customers with smile and good attitude and thank them for business
• Secure load, doors and handcart before leaving customer’s lot
• Walk around truck and trailer before and after servicing each account, checking for leaks and any physical damage to the truck or trailer
• Confirm all gauges have proper reading before going to next account. If any problems call supervisor immediately for repair instructions
• After completion of route, recheck all gauges and operable parts before shutting off engine. Complete truck paperwork and gas slip and turn in
• Check each bay for returned items and note on load sheet
• Verify cooperage and returned items with supervisor and have load sheet signed
• Balance deposit vs. invoices electronically
• Have deposit checked by night supervisor and place in deposit bag. Lock bag in supervisor’s presence
• Recap any daily activities (good or bad) with appropriate salesperson or supervisor.
• All other duties as assigned by management

Requirements:

• Must hold a valid commercial driver’s license A
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug test, D.O.T. physical & background check
• Must abide by all traffic laws and safety regulations
• Additional hours as required to meet seasonal needs
• Must follow state codes and regulations as well as company procedures
• Cannot hold outside employment or financial interest with any licensed alcohol retail permit holder
• Must keep in neat and clean appearance uniform that is to be worn at all times

• Must be willing to work in outdoor environment conditions, as work is performed often outdoors in cold, rainy, and hot conditions, and also within refrigerated warehouse environments, and occasionally within normal office environments.
• Must be able to lift at least 160 lbs.
• Must be able to stand for at least 1 consecutive hour and be able to walk frequently on level, uneven and/or up and down stairs.
• Talking, hearing, reaching, squatting and bending may be frequent.
• Must be able to climb in and out of semi-truck and push and pull heavy loads frequently
• Lifting weighted loads with the arms, legs, and back are required frequently

Education and Experience Required:

• At least 21 years old
