Furologist

What is expected from you:

Be friendly, be motivated, be on time, no drama, have fun, be professional, speak kindly to the clients.

We do ask you have all your own tools (clippers, shears, brushes, combs, blades etc).

A Furologist’s Requirements & Responsibility does include:

• Bathing (rare occasions), conditioning, and drying pets of various sizes and temperaments
• Trimming, clipping, scissoring, or shaving hair/fur.
• You should also be able to ensure that your grooming tools and equipment are in good working condition.
• De-matting and detangling hair as required for humanity not vanity.
• Trimming and Dremeling pets’ nails, brushing their teeth, and cleaning & plucking their ears.
• Grooming and styling pets according to pet owners’ instructions or standard breed specific styles.
• Accommodating special requests that pet owners may have within reason.
• Informing pet owners of any out of the normal observations but not diagnosing anything!
• Ensuring that all pets are safe and loved during the grooming process.
• Routinely cleaning work areas and salon.
• Recommending suitable products to pet owners (brushes, combs, flea collars, etc.)
• Must be friendly, professional, responsible, reliable and have a strong work ethic.
• Must be patient and gentle with pups while grooming
• Proven professional grooming experience.
• The ability to stand for long periods of time.
• The ability to treat all animals with compassion.
• The ability to lift up to 50 pounds pets and equipment unassisted.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Must have professional grooming experience with all sizes and breeds.
• Must be able to clean areas of the salon and your station each night.
• Stamina to be on your feet grooming a minimum of 5 dogs per day.
