Job Posting for Deputy Sheriff at Clay County Sheriff's Office

The Clay County Sheriff's Office is hiring a full time patrol deputy. Our department has 4 patrol deputies and one investigator. Patrol deputies are involved in ongoing investigations. Our work schedule is 6-6, 12 hour shifts with rotating day and night schedule. We allow fixed schedules if the deputies working opposite each other agree to it. Patrol deputies living in the county have take home patrol vehicles. We have a gym in the department and have paid workout time. Beyond normal patrol duties our patrol deputies may be needed to assist in our jail or with court and transporting prisoners. Sidearms are not provided but long guns are. (short M16s and red dots) We carry tasers and axon cameras. Patrolman wear external molle vests. Base pay is $20.14/hr after a probationary period. During probation the wage is $19.64. Kansas Certification is preferred. We provide good equipment and have a very supportive commission.
