Claymore Shop is a fine menswear store which provides elegant formal and casual men’s clothing to our discerning clientele. Since 1966, we have helped our clients define and refine their personal style. We offer made-to-measure and ready-to-wear clothing, shirts, shoes and accessories. We search the world for the best in traditional menswear and furnishings that our clients have come to expect from us.

We are a small haberdashery whose success is built upon the collaborative support and respect of our team of professionals. All contribute to the success of our business independently and collaboratively.

SEAMSTRESS - ALTERATIONS

Deliver professionalism and optimal efficiency of our tailor shop by fitting and counselling clients, ensuring the excellence of all craftmanship, and manage the resources and workflow of our tailor shop. Client satisfaction in proper fit and construction is our goal and is measured by the delivery of garments that enhance our clients’ attractiveness in style and comfort.

YOUR CONTRIBUTION

You will balance two main aspects of this position:

· Executing all aspects of fine tailoring with primary emphasis on basic tailoring tasks that do not require an advanced skill set.

• Alterations

- Simple sewing tasks such as hemming/shortening trousers, adjusting the waistline/seat, finishing cuffs.

· Managing the workflow and resources of the tailoring shop.

• Ensure that garments are completed on time by managing the workflow schedule and completion calendar.

YOUR SKILLS

The successful candidate will possess the following key attributes:

• Training

- Formal training for tailoring is preferred.

- Experience/training for menswear tailoring is desirable.

• Skill

- Excellent technical skills in measuring, marking, sewing and finishing.

- Well-grounded understanding of various types of sewing equipment, including their use and maintenance.

- Demonstratable proficiency in alterations of men’s fine tailored clothing – basic and advanced.

• Personal

- Self-motivated and client-friendly.

- Positive and caring team attitude and behavior.

- Effective communication skills for clients and colleagues.
