Maintenance Director

Clayton Residential Home is a Specialized Mental Health Rehabilitation Facility (SMHRF) located in the beautiful Lincoln Park neighborhood in Chicago. We provide recovery-based mental health services to adult individuals diagnosed with mental health disorders within a residential setting.

We are currently accepting applications for Maintenance Director. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing the overall upkeep of a healthcare facility, including planning and making repairs, troubleshooting electric, mechanical and plumbing issues, light remodeling, overseeing maintenance staff, ensuring that the building remains compliant with local Life Safety code requirements, and ordering, organizing and maintaining supplies and equipment.

The Maintenance Director reports directly to the Executive Director and works closely with various facility departments, including Housekeeping and direct service staff.

In order to be considered for this position, interested individuals must:

- Have experience in planning and implementing repairs, construction, and equipment installation/maintenance

- Have a working knowledge of standard equipment use and maintenance

- Be able to work events, weekends, holidays, and in emergency situations whenever required

- Be able to receive and carry out directives, as well as effectively supervise and direct personnel

- Be highly dependable and punctual

- Possess, at minimum, a high school diploma or GED

- Be able to push, pull, move, or lift a minimum of 25lbs to a height of five feet, and be able to move and/or carry such weight for a minimum distance of 50 feet

- Be in good mental and physical health, have sound judgment, and a sincere desire to work with the facility’s population

Reliable transportation and an ability to respond to the facility 24/7 in the case of an emergency is required.

This position additionally requires on-call duties and consistent availability during non-traditional business hours.
