This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and enforcing procedures, as well as streamlining and overall efficient and effective billing process. This position is highly visible and requires a strong leader with the ability to prioritize, plan, and direct the department.
Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
- Supervise the daily billing operations regarding improvement of productivity, accuracy, and proper internal controls
- Oversee accurate generation of customer invoices as well as ensuring invoices are effectively delivered
- Ensures that department metrics/goals are met and adhered to
- Identify and advise leadership on new billing solutions to improve departmental efficiency and accuracy
- Work with necessary cross-functional business teams to independently drive business results
- Supports collection process improvements to maximize reimbursement
- Assists with reviewing customer outstanding ledger accounts and ensures that they are properly reconciled
- Works in compliance with company financial policies and regulations
Basic Required Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Accounting or other related discipline, or the equivalent in related work experience demonstrating a high level of leadership, initiative, and critical thinking.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two or more years’ experience in a billing or financial role demonstrating excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, a deep understanding of the business drivers of profitability, data driven analysis and complex excel modeling
- Ability to effectively coach, mentor, and train billing professionals to meet performance expectations
- Process-enhancement mindset and proactive work ethic
- Strong written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrates strong presentation, organizational, detail oriented, and process driven skills.
- A good understanding of the hazardous waste industry including, but not limited to knowledge in DEA,
- DOT and EPA regulation
- Demonstrates good working knowledge of computer software applications, including Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Oracle, and/or various billing platforms
