Clean Harbors, located in Norwell MA, is seeking a Analyst Tax to join the tax department team. The Tax Analyst is an integral part of the tax department that is responsible for the renewal of some United States business licenses and managing state resale and exemption certificates for our customer base. The position will also support our US Tax Audit Manager. The position could also include the preparation of some United States sales tax returns.

Responsibilities
- Ensure Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
- Renew state and local business licenses.
- Assist in management of sales tax exemption and resale certificates in One Source and our internal billing system.
- Assist with US sales and use tax audits by finding and analyzing customer and vendor invoices in Peoplesoft.
- Help in the management of tax audits in order to minimize potential audit exposure.
- Prepare US State and Local Sales Tax Returns utilizing One Source software systems.
- Assist with administrative functions within the department as needed.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Peoplesoft preferred but not essential.
- Assist with the preparation of check requests as needed.
- May support tax staff with acquisitions and other corporate reorganizations.
- Knowledge of General Accounting and Reconciliation processes preferred
- Assist in the organization and management of the business license calendar.
- Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business.
Qualifications
What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, etc.
- Should have minimum of 0 - 2 years Sales and Use Taxes.
- Experience working for a large company in an outsourced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and remain organized.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must possess strong analytical skills and aptitude.
- Accounting for Sales and Use Tax knowledge.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Sabrix / One Source highly desirable.
- Speaking, listening, and acuity required.
- Sitting, standing, grasping and reaching required.
- Walking, stooping and crouching required.
- Lifting, pulling, pushing, or carrying up to 10 lbs. required.
